"125 Years - A Celebration of Tradition"

Out Door Country Club is celebrating its 125th Anniversary this year!

1892 was a simpler time.  Prominent men and women from the York area gathered for leisure activities at 645 Madison Avenue in York, home of the Out Door Club.  Club activities included tennis, croquet, bicycling and hiking; long before golf became the sport of choice for today's members. Distinguished men dressed in their “whites” and their elegant ladies adorned in high-collared, fine, stylish Victorian dresses gathered on the wide, accommodating porch surrounding the Clubhouse.

The year was 1957 when land was purchased in Manchester Township, along Detwiler Drive, to build a new prestigious clubhouse and golf course. In 1959 the name was changed to Out Door Country Club and ODCC moved to its current location today.

ODCC and its members will mark this incredible milestone as one of only a few clubs in America celebrating 125 years with exciting events August through November. Each month will celebrate with activites that give nod to the 645 Madison Avenue Out Door Club with rotating displays of memorabilia.

Celebration months:

  • August - Pool month begins with a kickoff in the Bistro on The Green on August, 4th
  • September - Celebrates Tennis & Croquet with events and tournaments for both sports
  • October - Recognizes golf with a 125th Golf Tournament. Golfers will dress in period garb and play with hickory shaft clubs, niblicks and mashies
  • November - The entire 125th Celebration comes together on November 18th for the formal Gala, an evening of dinner and dancing with the 6-piece live band Mutual Fun!‚Äč
