Golf Practice Areas

Golf is a game of practice. Once the most forgotten piece of a golf facility, the practice area is now a central hub of activity for many members. When there is not enough time to play a full round, a well-done and exciting practice facility is a great alternative. The Out Door Country Club has the leading golf practice facility in the York area.

The practice range includes 43,570 square feet of driving range improvements. The forward tee is a warm season Bermuda grass that thrives in summer heat. The rear tee is bentgrass that is more suited for the cooler spring and fall seasons. The combination of these grasses allows for quality turf throughout the golf season. In addition, two new fairway bunkers have been installed, along with a new mat system with 20 stations installed behind the tees. This TurfHound system is a state of the art product that combines 2 of 2, a fairway/tee height with a first-cut of rough and to top off the area the short game portion is designed to allow more users at one time, a greater variety of shots, and more realistic feedback.

Short Game & Putting Area

The complete reconfiguration of the Short Game Area provides a responsive facility that allows for more users at one time, a greater variety of shots, and more realistic feedback. Surrounding the new green with fairway will also provide much improved wear and recovery.
