Bill Ide begins his second year as Head Tennis Professional for the Outdoor Country Club. His responsibilities include providing tennis instruction, organization of racquet sports programs, maintaining the tennis court facilities and providing a well stocked pro shop with expert racquet stringing services. Previously, Bill served as the Assistant Tennis Professional at O.D.C.C. during the 2017 and 2018 seasons.

Bill brings extensive experience conducting private, semi-private and group instruction for both adult and junior players of all abilities. He has coached and worked with many top junior players in the York area including a former PIAA State Champion and several state finalists. He welcomes anyone from beginner/novice to USTA and college level player interested in improving their tennis skills.

When he is not teaching tennis, Bill is actively competing in USTA local, regional and National tennis competitions. He was a member of the USTA’s 2019 National Champion Sr. Men’s 9.0 Doubles Team in Orlando, FL. He served as Captain of the 2019 Walker Cup Team for Central Penn, has been a member of the USTA Middle States Atlantic Coast Cup, Bruno Cup, Millberg Cup and Donoff Cup National Intersectional Championship teams. He has won numerous local and Middles States tournaments. He also finished in Third Place at the 2018 USTA National Sr. Men’s 9.0 Doubles Team Championship in Surprise, AZ.

Outside of tennis, Bill has served as a Consultant involved in the sales of orthopedic, podiatric, spinal implants and other medical devices. Bill lives in Dover Township with his wife Debbie and Bailey, their Burmese cat. He is an avid golfer in addition to his passion for tennis.
